How We Choose What We Sell
Our standard is simple and specific: we list products made from body-safe materials, the kind a manufacturer identifies as non-porous and safe for body contact. We apply that standard by curation, meaning we select based on the material the maker states and the brand's reputation, and we name that material on every single product page so you can see it for yourself. These are wellness products, not medical devices, and we want to be honest about that from the first sentence. What Makes It Into the Catalog
Material matters more here than in almost any other product category, and the reason is biological. Genital and mucosal tissue is more permeable than the skin on your arm, and it tends to react faster to whatever it contacts. Porous surfaces are also harder to clean and can trap bacteria, which is worth knowing before anything touches your body.
So we favor non-porous materials that a manufacturer identifies as body-safe, for example:
Medical-grade and
platinum-cured silicone
ABS plastic
Borosilicate glass
Phthalate-free and BPA-free materials, where the maker states this
What We Don't List, and Why
Porous "jelly," PVC, and vaguely labeled TPR or TPE.These can't be properly cleaned, and some contain phthalates. That's a body-contact issue, not snobbery.
Products with no clearly stated material. If the maker doesn't say what something is made of, we can't confirm it's body-safe, so we don't list it.
About Country of Origin
Let’s be honest about something most catalogs gloss over: the large majority of this product category is manufactured in China. That is the reality of the industry. What actually matters for your body is the stated material and whether it meets our selection standard, not the country printed on the box. We judge by the material, and we tell you what it is.
How We Curate and Compare
When we build a “Best for X” list, a top-N roundup, or a head-to-head comparison, we compare along consistent, observable axes drawn from the product information, not from vibes. Those axes are:
- Material (it has to meet the body-safe standard to be on the list at all)
- Power and intensity range
- Noise level
- Waterproof rating
- Size and ergonomics
We compare what the manufacturer states, and we describe what a product is and what it does. We never claim a product treats a condition. Where a topic touches health, we point you toward research and reputable organizations instead of making the claim ourselves.
How We Write and Check Content
Here is how we keep our guides honest, accurate, and worth your time.
Named authors
Every guide carries a named author with a short bio and relevant background, so you know who is talking to you.
Reviewed before publishing
Content is checked for accuracy before it goes live, not after.
Trusted sources
For health-adjacent topics, we link to recognized organizations like Planned Parenthood, the American Sexual Health Association (ASHA), and the International Society for Sexual Medicine (ISSM).
Visible dates
Every article shows a clear “Last updated” date, because health information ages and you deserve to know how fresh ours is.
What We Don't Do
No medical advice. Our content is educational, our products are wellness products, not medical devices, and we don't diagnose, treat, or prescribe.
No press logos we haven't earned.
No invented heritage. You won't see a "trusted since [year]" badge we made up.
